News Post

Heidi Thomas

Dear Field Families,

We have had a very exciting and busy September! It is hard to believe that it is October already! The year seems to be flying by! I have been so thankful for this beautiful weather. I can’t wait to see the photos come back from picture day today.

We have been busy behind the scenes as a staff as well. We have spent time as grade level teams alongside our specialists taking a deeper look at our student data and using that to plan instruction aligned with the needs for our students. Our recent data meetings focused on Literacy Acceleration. During the designated grade level acceleration time our specialist staff “flood” the grade level so we are able to add additional literacy support for our students. Students who are not currently performing at grade level will be seen in small groups. These groups are made based on a variety of data including Fountas and Pinnell Reading Levels, MAP scores, as well as classroom performance. The groups are flexible and students will be moved so they are constantly working at an appropriate level.

Thank you for your continued partnership. I feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of the Field Community. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. As always, please reach out with any questions.

Sincerely,

Heidi Thomas

Social Emotional Supports
Our school social worker, Miss Nicole Salaman, worked closely with the Jefferson School Social Worker last year to create a space where you can find some resources to support calming, mindfulness, and managing emotions. I wanted to take a moment to reshare with all of our families. You can view this resource here. We hope that you find these resources helpful.
